Thanks, If this is the right orphanage -- it became the General Protestant Orphanage (or Orphans Home) on Beechmont Avenue. It's now known as Beech Acres and I believe is referred to as a parenting center. My uncle and aunt, Cy and Inez Carey, were in administration in the late '50's and 1960's. Just wanted to know if they are mentioned. Would really like to get a copy of that's the right information. Looking for Kathmann Family or information on Kathmann Shoe Store in Cincinnati. Help me. thanks
Thank you for all that information. I hope at some point it may tie in with my Reardons, who seemed to be scattered all over the area at times. My grandmother's father was named Cornelius Reardon, born in Ohio. His father was also Cornelius Reardon, born in Ireland. I find them in most censuses, etc. in the downtown Cincinnati area - parishes of St. Xavier and St. Peter in Chains. Ann I would contact St. Als to ask them for the records. They were pretty good in the past when I contacted them. My Ausdenmoore family (grandparents and uncle) is buried there, my grandparents lived across the street from the cemetery and my father's family were part of the parish for many years. It is a well kept cemetery though small in size. Karen Grumski
There is a Bridgetown cemetery. It is currently connected to the Pilgrim United Church of Christ on Race Rd. CincinnatiN OH. 45248. They do not have an online index. Hope this helps. On FamilySearch Ohio Deaths and Burials 1854-1997, there is Hannora Reardon, buried 27 March 1907 widowed, born Ireland 1810 (age 97) I found her again in Cincinnati death indexes for 1906 to 1908 as Honora Reardon, died 3/23/1907 born Ireland, age 93 buried Bridgetown, Ohio So far, I have not been able to connect her to any Reardon, Riordan, Raridan, etc. family. Cannot find her on the census, do not know who she is connected to. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated, particularly with the burial reference. I think that may be a hit! Sarah Honora is a family name. My grandmother Sarah Honora Reardon Troendle always told me she was named for someone earlier in her line. I have never seen the "Honora" part until now. Will work farther on finding Patrick and "Sarah" in censuses, etc. Maybe I can make the connection. The variable spellings of this surname have been very difficult to deal with over the years, plus the several families I've found in various Cincinnati records who may or may not be connected in any way to mine. All input much appreciated. Looked at New St Joseph's online index. There are Hannah/Nora Reardon. None with a 1907 burial date. On Apr 30, 2010, at 4:50 PM, Carol Sanman wrote: > Hi. Hi. I have a copy of the Green Township Burial Records that the Hamilton County Genealogical Society put out. It has several cemeteries in it. Bridgetown Cemetery and St Aloysius Gonzaga Cemetery (AKA Bridgetown Catholic Cemetery) are the most likely. There are several small cemeteries in it. I do not see any Reardon, Riordan or any other close spelling in that index. It is still possible that she's buried there, but not in the index. Riordan/Reardon sounds Irish. There is New St Joseph Cemetery-which is kinda near that area. Lots of Irish buried there. They do have an online index. Thanks for the input, Judy; I was kind of expecting an Irish Catholic burial, but since I know so little about this person, she may not even be a definite part of my Reardon family. Is there any other way to get information on burials in Bridgetown Cemetery? By phone, etc.?
