    1. Re: [OHHAMILT] searching for a birth cert or baptismal record
    2. Phyllis Garratt
    3. Hi Kay, >From your email it sounds as if you are looking for a birth record for Thomas. Is that correct? Is it possible that Thomas was born in Ireland? The reason I ask is that I found some records for a Thomas Toulster who was born in Ireland and came to the US through Canada. No birth records though. Was Thomas involved in Cincinnati politics in the 1870's? I found numerous newspaper articles on a Thomas Toulster who was Sergeant-in-Arms of the Common Council in Cincinnati. One article tells about his horse and buggy being stolen. I also found an article on a Frank Toulster of Cincinnati who was killed by a train October 13th 1877. Or are you looking for a birth or baptismal record for his son William? It is not totally clear from your email, but am guessing that might be what you are looking for. Phyllis -----Original Message----- Subject: [OHHAMILT] searching for a birth cert or baptismal record Will try to make a long story short. Thomas TOULSTER's wife margaret, died in Dec 1874. The next marriage I have for him is in July 1879 to Mary MANNING. I have a death certificate for a William TOULSTER, son of Thomas stating he was born August 11 1876. TOULSTER is an unusual surname. I have addresses for Thomas from the Cincinnati City Directories for the year 1875 at 224 1/2 Broadway, 1876 192 Sycamore, 1877 21 North, and 1878 @ 34 e. 6th street. question--1. is there a chance there would be a birth certificate?                2. 1. Re: [OHHAMILT] The search for Honora Reardon
    2. Thank you for any help, Carol. Let me clarify a couple of things from past messages. Your original message did cite the names you found at St. Aloysius as being spelled RAIRDON (Michael, Patrick and Sarah H.) The phone conversation today indicated that the cemetery books actually have the surname spelled REARDON (so you can see right there one example of how difficult this family has been to pin down over the years). Your information about Section 1, lot 63 in the cemetery indicated Michael died 3 Jan 1892 age 25 years and was born in Ireland, Patrick lived from 27 jan 1861 to 5 Sept 1893 and had the word (father) included. Sarah H. was born in Ireland, with no dates given and (mother) written. "Sarah H." and "Hannorah" Reardon may be one and the same person -- I have no idea for sure. The phone conversation today indicated that the cemetery record for Hanorah/Honora Reardon simply gave her age and death date, no location for her gravesite in the cemetery, just a number (213) that apparently means nothing as far as location is concerned. Although the words "mother" and "Father" are used, I have no idea if Patrick, who was born 1861 was actually the husband of the woman buried at St. Aloysius, or perhaps her son. So far, I have found nothing that matches other than the Patrick/Honora 1853 marriage and I think one census in which I found Patrick and Honora Reardon in Green Twp. but with no children remaining in the household! I just can't match 'em up. Thanks for anything you can do. According to her 1907 obituary, Honora (Hannorah) was the widow of a Patrick, hom I have also been unable to identify. Question is, how are Honora and atrick related to Cornelius??? When I look at the holdings at NewspaperArchive.com it seems they have more there than they released to Ancestry.com. If anyone is an OGS member, can you go there and see if they have the Lima News up to 2003 or just to 1977. Ancestry only has to 1977. If you can see to 2003 then I assume you have total access. Thanks to whoever answers.

    2. Janet Lippelman
    3. Hello, It's been awhile since I posted anything so I thought I'd try my luck with the surname CLARK. I am trying to find any information on a CLARK family in Sycamore Twp. (Montgomery). I have a Jane CLARK born 1804 in Kentucky. She married Christopher CONSTABLE in Hamilton County on 22 Dec. 1826. She is buried in Hopewell Cemetery in Montgomery. There were quite a few CLARK families living in Montgomery that I think are related. In the 1870 census a Margaret CLARK was living with Jane. She was a few years older.Maybe a sister? There was an Alexander CLARK born about 1802 in Kentucky that was living in Sycamore Twp.. Jane named one her her sons Alexander. I also found a Jane CLARK age 73 in 1850 census for Montgomery. She had two children living with her: Thomas and Margaret. She could be Jane's mother. If anyone could help me put all these families together, I'd appreciate it. There were quite a few listings for CLARK in the surname registry that I tried to contact but their email addresses came back. Thanks for any help. Janet

    2. If anyone finds this book, will you please post to this site as well as letting Ann know?  This facility may be where my grandmother and her two brothers were for a time after both their parents died within 3 months.  Thanks! 3. Have you tried contacting them through their website? I Googled Beech Acres Cincinnati and got to it. They might be able to help with information or the book. 1. [OHHAMILT] The Images of American book title
    2. Thanks to Barbara; I did find that book title on the Library of Congress catalog. It is one of the "Images of America" series, by Arcadia Publishing. The title is: "Cincinnati's General Protestant Orphan Home: Beech Acres Parenting Center" by Natasha Reziain (of Beech Acres Parenting Center). I have still been unable to find it for sale anywhere, but the publishing date is 2010, maybe it's not released yet. Any updates would be appreciated. Thanks, Ann Bergelt
