    3. The list seems to be earlier than 1910. My Forn great grandfather is not on this list. He died in 1910 and I know he is in one of the German Pioneer Society books at the Cinci Public Library. Peg

    2. I would have to agree with Ann about the possibility of being related. My great grandmother, Louise Waag, was raised German Lutheran and her family is buried in Vine Street Cemetery. My great grandfather, Henry Ausdenmoore, was first generation German Catholic. They were married in a Catholic church, raised their kids Catholic and the oldest son became a Catholic priest, later to be a monsignor. The Ausdenmoores are buried in Catholic cemeteries mostly St Mary's for the time period. Not sure what the Waag family thought about Louise marrying a Catholic but it happened in the late 1800's! 2. Please post your note on the Clermont Co Rootsweb Board. I used to live in Batavia and there is a cemetery listing book at the Batavia Branch of the county Library where they hold their genealogical listings. You might be able to send an email to the Batavia branch and have the librarian do a look up for you. Karen Grumski

    3. I have a couple of relatives buried in Green Mound Cemetery. I no longer live in the Cincinnati area. So I'm trying to remember from memory. I believe that the cemetery is on Green Mound Rd. It runs off of hwy 132. Hwy 132 runs off of hwy 52. coming from Cinncinnati on 52 take a left at 132 and Green Mound Rd is the first or 2nd street to the right. The cemetery is on the left about a mile or less down the road.. I do not know if they have a staff there. Or if there are any records kept there. You might try the courthouse in Batavia, Ohio. I hope that this helps you. Mary At 12:33 AM 7/11/2010, you wrote: >Just found a great-uncle's death certificate. He was buried in Green Mound >New Richmond OH. 3. JC - OK, I won't give up on them just yet. ;) I did notice that most of the MEN(C)KE folks I find are Catholic, while my line was German Lutheran. Maybe both my Menkes and Köttings moved to the German Lutheran faith about the same time? It's really tough to say 150 years after the fact. 3. Thank you, Peg. I had no idea there was such a book in existence. I will write to the library and see if there are any Menke or Koettings listed in there. I suspect that my direct line left the area too early to be included, but maybe there is a cousin or nephew, etc. that could be listed with some family clues. See if your library has the online database to "America's Obituaries" and do a surname search - not only just for the name of the deceased, but also included in the content of the obit. I first confined it to OHIO papers only and came up with a 2005 Columbus Dispatch obit for Robert Maize, whose daughter Karen was married to Sean Spettel. Then in searching the US (there are only four pages) I found in Covington KY 1998 obit for Max Gross, whose wife's maiden name was Herta Spettel. There were "hits" in various parts of the US, including Iowa, IL and FL. This works well with the rarer names. Too many results with others unless you keep the search confined to a specific area or even a selection of newspapers. Ann Bergelt

Since you have her death date, they should be able to search the newspapers. From what I've read online, you should be able to make the request via email or phone. (I know that for Cincinnati/Hamilton Co., the library can and will email you the obit.) If you can obtain this Helen's obit, you might be able to determine one way or the other if she was your Ralph's wife. And with any luck, if she was, perhaps or obit will mention when hubbie died, or perhaps list survivors. 2. Hi, Adina, There's a New Richmond in Clermont County, Ohio.  There's also a Richmond Dale in Ross County, Ohio  The one in Clermont County, which abuts Hamilton County, is right smack on the Ohio/Kentucky border. Richmond Dale is nearer to Chillocothe, Ohio. So I'd stick with the one in Clermont if you're looking for Cincinnati relatives!
