    1. Yanney Family
    2. Josh & Paula Pangier
    3. Hi! I am looking for information on Elizabeth Yanney who was born in Hamilton County in 1835/1836. I have no idea of who her parents were or siblings. Can anyone tell me if there were any Yanney/Yanny families in Hamilton County in the 1840 Federal Census? I know they were several in the census's for 1860-1880. Also, Elizabeth was married in Hamilton County in 1854...could someone please tell me if there were any other Yanney's who were married in the County...perhaps siblings of hers. Last question...what year did the city directories first started getting published? Thanks for your time, Paula

    1. Ellen Ryan
    2. Margaret AmRhein
    3. Hi Lori, According to the 1880 census, Ellen Ryan was born in Ohio and her parents are from Ireland. Also, Dennis Ryan is in the 1860 census for Cincinnati. How about posting the names you have for her parents and the witnesses on her marriage? It might help in breaking down the brickwall. The witnesses could be neighbors or family members. 3. Hi Margaret, I don't know where she was born, so I don't have a clue as to where to start at this point. 1. Marriage & Death Info
    2. Anne Duffy
    3. Hi List: I have also tried to get a marriage record from various places in Cinn., the Courthouse, the library, old newspapers, archives, etc. I had the name & date---- Wm. H. Morgan m. Mary Langan Dec.6, 1865. Always got the same answer, "couldn't be found". I finally contacted the Archdiocese and they sent a copy of when they were married and the names of the witness'. I think one witness was a "Ghost", could never find any followup on him./her. The only A.B. Morgan I found was "five" years old at the time. The other was the sister of Mary. I was looking for the parents of Wm. H. But that info was not on the paperwork. My next quest was to find some kind of death notice for Wm. H. his occupation was carriage maker/ carpenter. He died somewhere between 1891? and before 1912. I know that's a stretch, he seems all to have disappeared, with no visible trace. I tried the various sources for that also, but didn't have any luck. I'm almost ready to just give it up. It really can get discouraging. Maybe something will turn up when I least expect it. Anne

    3. From http://genealogy.about.com/cs/census/a/1900_census.htm On June 1, 1900 the Bureau of the Census began taking the 12th decennial census of the United States. All responses were to reflect the individual's status as of 1 June 1900, even if the status had changed between June 1st and the day of the actual enumeration (i.e. children born after 1 June should not be listed, and people who died after 1 June should still be counted). 3. Information on death certificates isn't always accurate, either. One of my ancestors died in a Catholic hospital for cancer patients and her death info was supplied by a nun who had only cared for her in her illness. The Sister did the best she could, but the parents names were wrong. Have you looked for William in the 1870 and 1880 census? Maybe his neighbors might give you a clue. Who were their neighbors in the 1900 census? Who else is buried near them? What are the names of their children? Was there a naming pattern for the children? Sometimes the first and second born sons were named for grandfathers, Was a usual surname used for any given names of the children? Was there an obituary for Nellie? If she had brothers or nephews surviving maybe they were listed or served as pallbearers. Sounds like you are beating a dead horse for the marriage information, try another tack. Hope this helps.
