    3. FYI, the following family is in the 1860 Hamilton Co., 10-WD Cincinnati census: Augs Seider, 33, Blksmith, Wurt (Wurt was transcribed by HeritageQuest Online. The image I have is hard to read.) Louisa Seider, 21, Baden Louisa Seider, 2 Rosa Seider, 10 mos. Less Augs, looks like the 1880 family. Do you want an .jpg image file of the census sheet? 2. Donna St Felix
    3. Hi Lori. I know about those perpetual fees as I started the Wesleyan Cemetery website. Barely anyone pays or paid them there and that's one of the main reasons why the cemetery went broke. As family members die out and others move away, there's no one to collect from. It's a shame the cemetery you're dealing with didn't offer a one time fee or if they did, it wasn't done as it would make your situation a lot easier to deal with. Base cost: It depends on the company you hire to do it or if the cemetery has staff that can do it. Sometimes it may be the headstone company. About all you can do is question around. In my situation I was dealing with a cemetery in Michigan. It sounds like the cemetery you are dealing with won't allow anything without that fee paid but there may be legal 'work arounds'. The fee would be the same if there was or wasn't a stone there. Does the cemetery expect someone to still be paying for maintenance on burials done long ago in 500 years? ... You can see how cemeteries get into financial problems. Years ago they may have charged only $3 or $5 a year. At Wesleyan they had the option of 'ivy' on the graves (extra one time fee for planting) of which many did have long ago. In those cases it was then the maintenance job (cost) of keeping it off of the large upright headstones. ... Good luck!! I'm concerned about the "perpetual fees" that the cemetery says are owed, because once the people died, the care fees were not kept up. 3. Hi Marilyn, I went there, and yes, he is entitled! I got a little emotional when I realized that my fathers dream of getting a stone for him and his mom will probably happen, and that my father will get to see it, god willing. It's so ironic that this all transpired today, as it is the 52nd anniversary of my grandfathers death. Apparently my grandmothers name would not get to be on the stone, because of the time period. Perhaps there's a way around that, where we could maybe pay for the additional engraving. I don't know what will happen with the cemetery and the "back fees" that they want before allowing a stone to be placed there. Perhaps the VA can get around that. Thanks to all of you for your help, you've certainly made my family very happy!!! -Lori -- Kaesemein@aol.com wrote: Lori, Headstones are provided by the US Dept. of Veterans Affairs at www.va.gov Click on Burial, then click on Headstones and markers in the left column for more information.
