Donna, My husband's Grandmother was a KLOCKE from Nebraska. I have information on that family back to 1846 if you are interested. Ann Borgman in Washington.
Looking for Seiler and Benkeser descendants in the Hamilton County, Ohio area. Have just made a connection between them and my Lohne ancestors, also from Lauf, Baden, Germany. Will share info. LeeAnn McNabb Cincinnati, Ohio
Researching these names: Klocke, Toker, Pfannkuchen, Welsch, Reimann, Dollenmeyer Am willing to share and hope to find more info. Thanks, Donna in Montana
Hello, thanks for writing! It appears these are unrelated Schulte's, as mine were from Epe, Westfalen, Germany. Just in case I checked for a John Bernard Schulte and didn't have one in my PAF file. While searching the Wesleyan cemetery burial records FTL Directory Noticed two LAW infants buried there No first names: LAW (infant) Died 2 Mar. 1911 LAW (infant) Died 16 Feb. 1914..Stillborn..Lot owner Stevens..buried with Margaret Meyers. Tom Thompson In Florida.
Bob, The Wiltsee funeral company was the named funeral company on the Spring Grove records where my GGrandfather, John Law, is buried. Most of my family is there. As a matter of fact, there is just enough room for my husband and me. Wiltsee buried almost all of the family in the early 1900's. I have been searching for several years trying to find the maiden name of my GGGrandmother, Sarah Law. Nowhere is there a maiden name listed. I was hoping the funeral home records might show it. My GGGgrandfather, William, and his wife Sarah are buried at Woodlawn in Xenia. I have written them several times for the burial records with no response. Think I am going to have to get on my horse and go home. :o) Although, my cousin has gone to Woodlawn several times and the office has never been open. Anyway, that's my sad story. Thanks for your interest. Hello Bob, I saw your message to Nancy regarding the Wiltsee Funeral Home and was wondering if you could do a lookup for me in the Vol. 1 of the Hamilton County, Ohio Burial Records you referred to. I am looking for anyone by the surname of Dill. Specifically, I have "lost" my great-grandfather, Matthew J. Dill, as well as his father, John G. Dill, somewhere in Hamilton County between 1860 and 1909. If they are not listed, any Dill at all would be appreciated and thank you for your trouble. Hi LeeAnn, I noticed the KEATING surname in your listing. Some of my Keatings in Cincinnati, Hamilton county were Patrick who married Mary HANRAHAN about 1879. They had 3 sons, John, William and Joseph. William died at an early age. I cannot find when or where Patrick (may also have gone by Edward) died. John and Joseph came to Chicago in the late 1890s. Mary also was in Chicago and married to Andrew Coughlin in the 1900 census. Any bells ringing? :-) Please let me know. Thanks and God Bless. Evelyn in AR At 11:08 PM 7/12/2005, you wrote: >Hello! You may already have this info, but---- John SCHROTH, age 68y, died of bronchopneumonia and was interred on 23 Feb 1911 in Grave 8, Range 12, in Sec. North Grounds. Actually I don't know any more about it than what I wrote. It would be interesting to know. I have found other little publications by accident while researching at the Cincinnati Historical Society library also. I am thinking that they would have indexed more if more had been available to these indexers. Guess I'll have to write to Carol Montrose to purchase one and see if any additional info can be obtained. I've looked at the LDS microfilm website for the death certificates, in Cincinnati/Ohio, but haven't found where the D/C are listed. Do you recall which section it is in? I looked in Vital Records and some, what I thought were logical possibilities, but didn't find it. Any help appreciated. Bob, Thank you so much! Strangely enough, my part time job while I was attending UC was mending books in the binding room at the library. Wasn't called Blegen then. :o) Nancy A Cincinnatian lost in Texas ----- Original Message ----- From: "bob" <bgband@cinci.rr.com> To: <OHHAMILT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2005 9:27 PM Subject: Re: [OH-HAMILT] death certificate - UC library > Nancy, > > University of Cincinnati > Blegen Library, Archives and Rare Books Department > P O Box 210113 > Cincinnati, OH 45221-0113 > > 513 / 556-1959 > > Good luck > > Bob > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Nancy Alexander" <fritzidale@satx.rr.com> > To: <OHHAMILT-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2005 10:00 PM > Subject: Re: [OH-HAMILT] death certificate - UC library > > >> Bob, >> >> My GGrandfather died in 1900. Good Morning, Item #8 regarding the Cincinnati Mirror and Chronicle abstract book caught my eye. Do I understand correctly that this is not a new publication but has been around awhile? I did some checking and found the Univ. of Wis. Library at Madison has several films of the Cin. Mirror and Chronicle for various years in the 1830's, however they don't appear to circulate. I don't see them at LDS, either. Is anyone on the list familiar with these records and know where the films are available for interlibrary loan? I agree this could be a wonderful resource that possibly hasn't been tapped. Have a great day.
