    1. RE: [OH-HAMILT] Presbyterian Cemetery?
    2. Donna St. Felix
    3. That early in time (1829), there most likely are not any records unless early church records for the cemetery exist, if kept. The information at Spring Grove would most likely have been taken from a headstone or some type of wood marker. In that time frame (as in many remote areas today), it could have been that the family dug the grave, did the service/asked a minister or ? to say some words and that was all the record there was/is. It also could have been a situation of the time that the family just picked a spot in the cemetery and the headstone let others know that someone was there. ... You might check with the historical society for early Presbyterian records for that church. They also could have been passed to another Presbyterian church in Cincy. Keep in mind also that early burials were in wood coffins, if any coffin (family choice & cost). There may not have been much to move. I copied a record from Spring Grove on an ancestor who died in 1829. She was originally buried in the Presbyterian Cemetery, 12th Street, City. Her remains were moved to Spring Grove in 1858. Where would the Presbyterian Cemetery records be kept? There is very little information on her Spring Grove card. Suzanne __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 3. About the book and what it contains: Actually there are about 3 main parts to the Morgue book and 4 alphabetical listings. 1. Addresses of former Funeral Homes in Cincinnati 2. Morgue Records of Cincinnati & Hamilton Co., Oh., March 1901 to 1982. (alphabetical order) The information in general includes, if given, the name; race; age; date of death; place of death; burial no.; and cause of death, funeral home or coroner. 3. Morgue Burials to private cemeteries, 1981 to March 1992 (there are 4 of these listed--each in alpha order.) For the private cemeteries (Wesleyan, Walnut Hills, Vine Street Hill, and Oak Hill) the name; date of birth; died; and gravesite location. 4. Cincinnati Morgue Records June 18, 1887, to Dec. 31, 1914. (alpha. order) For the Morgue Records is given name; race; age; died; cause of death/place/resided/person who identified (ID)/ occupation/funeral home. Hope this helps. 3. Thanks for asking about Salt Lake City. I really REALLY wanted to go and I enjoy meeting everyone at the conferences. But I have pretty much decided to go to the G.H.O.T.E.S. conference on the Eastern Shore of Virginia instead as I want to try to find out more about my KEYSER line. IF I can get caught up with my work. For anyone with ancestors from that region, there is a great little courthouse in Eastville (VA) that holds the longest running court records in the U.S. I've been there and it is, to me, a wonderful little place (and great crabcakes in that area!). Have fun in SLC. 3. Gayle, I have set up a page on the Hamilton Co. OHGenWeb site (http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohhamilt/mnpg.html) that lists all of the books (that I could find) & if they are available & where. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohhamilt/books.html Little Miami Publishing is the current publisher for the Gen. Soc. books. Heritage Books was formerly their publisher & apparently still has some of the older books available. I'm not sure where Frontier Press comes in, but at this time I've gotten feed back that they have not responded to e-mail's so we are not really sure if they are even in business. There are some books that I've listed that are now out of print but I understand if there are enough requests Little Miami Publishing will consider a reprint. Barbara Keyser Gargiulo of Little Miami Publishing has been keeping me updated as new books are going to print.
