    3. Here is a RATTERMAN in Cincinnati: Cincinnati Enquirer 11 Nov 1983 Dorothy K. Ratterman 78, 442 Dayton Street., a social worker and teacher died Monday at Jewish Hospital. Miss Ratterman, whose family were lone residents of Dayton Street, taught elementary school in Cincinnati. She was treasurer of Community Church of Cincinnati, 932 Dayton Street., headed by Rev Maurice McCracken, and formerly had been a group worker for the Findley Street Neighborhood House and a Parish worker for West Cincinnati Street Barnabas Church. She resided in the West End most of her life, attended Bloom School the first day that it opened and later went to Hughes High School. She graduated from Miami University Teachers Collage, and day care center. She taught piano for more than 25 years and in her later years, the Cincinnati Council On Aging hired her to play piano and give lesson for members of three senior centers, The English Woods, the Stanley Rowe in the West End and at 601 Maple Ave, Avondale. When health prevented her from continuing with her job on a regular schedule, she would drop by at the centers occasionally to entertain the members without pay. Survivors include a brother Marion F. Ratterman and several nieces and nephews. Anderson, Baiter & Sahnd Funeral Home, 3412 Clifton Ave, in charge of arrangements. Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at West Cincinnati Presbyterian Church, Poplar and Baymiller Streets, Memorials: Community Church of Cincinnati 45214. MARRIAGE I believe she was married to Robert Hartley WAGNER, b. 17 Feb 1902, d. 29 Jan 1980 Cincinnati. They were divorced about 1942. 3. There was a Dorothy Ratterman who graduated from Mt. Healthy H.S. in 1926 and a Larry Ratterman who graduated in 1974. Mt. Healthy is the community just north of North College Hill. I have no additional information. ----- Original Message ----- From: DPRSjacksn@aol.com To: OHHAMILT-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Tuesday, September 06, 2005 11:59 PM Subject: [OH-HAMILT] RATTERMAN In a message dated 9/6/2005 7:41:26 PM Pacific Daylight Time, gwilli26@bellsouth.net writes: Hi,thank you for your reply. 2. Hi. Figure it's me you're talking to; if so, you're welcome for looking up info. I do not live near or in Ohio. Wish I did at least for a little while right about now -- I have several counties I'd dearly love to visit & go through their records for myself. I live in Northeast Texas (near Tyler). Re. your offer of helping with California information, I will be taking you up on that as soon as I lay hands on some information here. I have a man who died in California, also his wife who remarried; I'm interested in information on both of them. I have both of them on censuses but don't think I have their exact death dates, which I want. I'll dig around for the information and then ask you about it -- will try to contact you off this list since it pertains to CA vs Hamilton co. I'm pretty much available most of the time to help w/census lookups, that kind of thing; I have a subscription to Ancestry.com for censuses only at home plus I work in a genealogical library, too; they have the censuses +, so I don't mind helping. My lines in/that went through Hamilton county: THOMAS, KERR, FESS, HERRING, probaby others too. The ones I think who stayed the longest were the Thomases (William & Christiana & a relative Osborn w/his family) - ca 1850-1880s. Good luck with your lines & hope all works out well for you!! Thanks, Denise Ratterman Jackson I did some more looking, found the family on the 1920 Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH census. You probably already know that, right? I did not follow any posting that y'all might have been doing before so if I missed something, sorry. I looked at length for immigration records for Albert/Susan; I used variations on their being from Europe, Hungary, Germany, also a range of 1901-1905 for immigration even though the 1910 said 1903. Got kind of frustrating cause I did find others but I did not find them & according to the 1910, they'd married ca 1898. So I decided on looking for them in 1920, see if there was other information given for them there that might help. And, there was. They still did not have children. But, interestingly enough, the 1920 gave a different immigration date: 1895, then said they'd been naturalized march 1900. So that's pretty clear why I could not find them in immigration records == looking at the wrong years. I don't have time right now to look further for them (just spent a while trying to find them for 1900 census -- did not and tried variations of their first & last names; sure they must be there since they immig 1895) but later when I have the time I'll try immigration records again for ca 1895, see what comes up if anything. 2. I did some more looking, found the family on the 1920 Cincinnati, Hamilton, OH census.
