    1. morris jordan
    2. Karen Clanin
    3. lisa this marriage date is a little 'young' to be found at some of the sites normally searched. i did find a morris jordan in the social security index Morris Jordan, born 10-4-1910, died in June of 1991 in Morrow, Warren county, ohio, his ss# was 301-01-6709 there were others but this was only one in ohio. you might learn something by sending for a copy. fyi, there was no evelyn wymer in ohio in the 1930 census but one in hamilton co. in the 1920, she was 1 month of age at time census was taken, listed as daughter, home was St.Bernard Ward 1, Hamilton, ohio. father william, mother lillian, brother raymond, daughters mary and evelyn.....is this your family? they were in millcreek twp and census was taken on jan.8 1920 so she would have been born in december of 1919. hopefully someone on the list that is currently in hamilton county can actually look this up for you. karen in CA >Date: Thu, 22 Sep 2005 21:38:37 EDT >From: Licrtyem@wmconnect.com > >Hello. 1. Hurricane Rita & Contact Points
    2. Hello Everyone, I received this message from another genealogy list. If any of you have friends or relatives who cannot evacuate the hurricane area, you might want to get in touch with them TODAY and set up a plan of communication for after the storm. << A friend who is living in Spring, Texas who is having to stay there through this storm just contacted me. We have made arrangements for her to send me via e-mail TODAY a list of her friends and relatives who will worry about she and her husband when they loose electricity and probably telephone contact with the outside world. She will do everything in her power to contact us so that we can notify the people on her list. Please everyone who is in that area please do the same so that there is as little confusion as possible when this storm is over. If you need someone to do this for you we would be willing to be your contact point. Our address is 1752 W 700 S Pingree, ID Our phone is 208 328 2475 Please feel free to cross post this to other genealogy lists. Judie Dunkle >> Have your friends or relatives send you a list TODAY of people to contact. After the storm passes, your friends or relatives can contact you as soon as possible (there will be internet service available at shelters) and you, in turn, can let their list of people know that they are okay. If you want to send this on to other genealogy lists, be sure to ask permission of the List Administrator before you post it. God be with everyone and keep them safe. Marilyn - List Mom

    1. Marriage Record for John Dietz
    2. Margaret AmRhein
    3. I am looking for a marriage record for John Dietz(Diez) born about 1820 in Bavaria. He married a Mary Bau? who was born in 1835 in Ohioand Mary had either a sister/sister in law named Theresa. I am figuring that they might have been married in one of the Catholic Churches in Cincinnati. Their 1st child-Mary Theresa was born in 1855 in Brookville, Franklin County, IN. On the 1850 census, John Dietz is living in Franklin County. Mary's last name on the baptismal record for Mary Theresa Dietz is hard to read. Thanks for the help. 2. Ann, Cece and all, If I'm not mistaken, Miami Twp. in 1900 was mostly open land and it was a rural area. There were no street names and house numbers. I think there were mail box numbers and rural route numbers. People either had a mail box at the local post office or their mail box was at the end of their driveway and they would have an address something like RR #2 Box 37 or something like that. 2. Cece and all; That Miami Township enumerator apparently chose not to put the street name(s) down the left side of the census paper, or didn't know he was supposed to! I checked a few pages and assume the entire E.D. #300 is done the same way? If you need to find out an address, and they were not living there on the following census, you might try this - sometimes it works. Look at several family names nearby your ancestor's residence (you didn't mention that name, by the way). Then check those names in the next census. Surely, someone would have stayed in the same place for ten years or more. With any luck, the street name will be on the next one. Good luck, Ann Bergelt Florida

    3. Hi Cece: On the 1900 census the street names run up and down the page in the very first column [no little blocks in this column], the second column will have the the home number which is the actual street address. Then you get the dwelling number and family number [where there are multiple families living at one address]. The other terrific thing about the 1900 census (and some of the others) is that it tells you the marital status, how many times they have each been married [M2 = two marriages] and how long they have been married in this marriage. For the women, they are asked how many children they have had and how many are living. Great clues! 3. Suzanne, I have been there a few times. Copies of death certificates are only a quarter. They have them indexed 1909 thru 1954, but only on film thru 1953. Never got a straight answer why that is. The archive library is only open Wed and Sat 9-5, and Thurs 1-9. It's very easy to find right off I-71. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Suzanne Maschmeyer" <roots@stny.rr.com> To: <OHHAMILT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, September 16, 2005 10:46 PM Subject: RE: [OH-HAMILT] RE: research in Columbus - questions > Thank you.
