    3. Janet, Sherri Hall was handling the surname registry for Hamilton Co., OHGenWeb, but she recently indicated she has her hands full at the moment has sent me this past week all of the webpages & graphics to include back in with the Hamilton Co. site. So, although the surname registry is currently located here http://www.rootsweb.com/%7Eohhamcem/reg.html once I have gone through all of the pages & uploaded the URL will change. Sherri is leaving the current pages where they are until I can do what needs to be done. I'll post on the Hamilton Co., OHGenWeb update page & also here once the pages are uploaded. Meanwhile, if you want to send me your information & I'll include the changes you need made as I go through the pages that would be fine. Note, this is not the Wesleyan registry, that remain as it currently appears, this is only the registry for surnames in Hamilton Co., OH that others are researching. 3. Marcia, the only way you can read a particular article is to send an email requesting it to marianne.reynolds@cincinnatilibrary.org and you have to be patient-----I sent for some death notices in July and have yet to receive them. The only other way is to go to the Cincinnati library and copy them yourself, or ask on the list if someone can do that for you. I used to do this for others on my trips to the library, but do not get around as well as I used to and can no longer do that. 1. Pork Packing/Cincinnati
    2. Hi, all, I am relatively new to this list. I have been researching my Hamilton County genealogy for a while, though. I wonder if anyone has any relatives who were in pork packing? Both side of my paternal grandmother's family were in this business: Charles Davis and Samuel Davis, Jr. were brothers who started out together, but eventually had separate companies, first downtown, later out on Spring Grove Avenue. They also had other Davis brother in business with them. Dates would be 1830s to late 1890s. Also, in business with them at one time or another: John H. Porter and Nathaniel Goldsmith. All of these men were born in Massachusetts. Also, Joseph Rawson and his sons, Warren, Edward, Joseph Jr. Rawson. They, too, started out downtown and moved out Spring Grove way to get away from the river and its flooding and to take advantage of the railroad. In business with Joseph originally was Warren Hartshorn and John R. Child. These three men were all from Massachusetts. I am interested in them, but also interested in the meat packing business in Cincinnati. If anyone can point me to some resources, it would be appreciated. Thanks, Abby Pettiss Researching Charles Davis, Samuel Davis Jr., Joseph and Warren Rawson, John H. Porter, Charles Bonsall, Nathaniel Goldsmith, John R. Child, Warren Hartshorn and their families.

    3. It sure is a lot better than it used to be 5 years ago. I had to go to the SG Office, view the microfiche and make copies at 50 cents each. Now reading the PDF cards online is much easier and not so hard on the pocket book. Spring Grove online could be a model for most other cemeteries.
