    1. [OHHAMILT] NURRE question
    2. Hi; The FamilySearch lab site has the death certificates for Henry NURRE (d.9 April 1940) and also Mary A. NURRE (d. 8 Apr 1941), who was a daughter of Henry and Mary Mollaun. His death certificate shows his occupation as "Framing Pictures" and both were buried by Nurre Bros. Not a definite indication of relationship, but certainly a suggestion. The funeral rep was Lawrence Nurre. Perhaps you could trace him back to a mutual connection. Ann Bergelt **************Planning your summer road trip? Check out AOL Travel Guides. 1. [OHHAMILT] NURRE
    2. Dear List: I am researching the NURRE family who started the frame, molding and mirror manufacturing company on Plum Street in Cincinnati. Henry NURRE was the founder. He married Mary MOLLAUN, from Oldenburg, IN. Henry's son, Joseph NURRE, moved to Bloomington, IN to work for PPG. Later, he started his own mirror business in Bloomington before moving it to Egg Harbor, NJ. In the censuses, there are two young Henry NURREs about the same age in Cincinnati. All lived in Ward 10 and the families seem to have used the same given names for the children. One of the NURRE families appear to be in Carpet Weaving. The other had a stationary/framing shop. It would seem that the ones who had the framing shop would be Henry NURRE's family. It is still very hard to be sure. Also, does anyone know if Henry NURRE was a relative of the same NURREs who have the funeral business? Best Wishes, Donna Mollaun ************** Planning your summer road trip? 3. Lori, My ancestor Henry Wischer/Wisker came to Cincinnati in 1843 from Alfhausen. Several years ago I ordered the set of index & transcription books & cd's with the birth/death/marriage images of St. Johann's records from Siegfried Smid. I didn't realize that he had put the indexes online! Everything I ordered cost over $200 cash. It looks like he has set it all up now on a single CD for 35 Euro?? For more information, his website is here: http://www.sjsmid.nl/ If you go to the English page you will find links to indexes for all of the records! I would be willing to do some "limited" checking. One really needs to have the CD's to do a complete study of connecting surnames. Meanwhile, I've spent every spare minute the past 2 weeks painting. The carpet will get layed tomorrow morning & then I will begin moving my "office" from a basement room to the room upstairs :-) I've tons of binders, books & files to move, not to mention the desk, shelving units, file cabinets & computer equip. I've no idea how long it will take.................. 2. Good Morning; If you will go to the Family History Library's library catalog, there is an entry for the Catholic Church in Germany/Pruessen/Hannover/Alfhausen. It indicates Baptism, Marriage and Death information is shown from 1810 to 1874. Film # 1272905 Items 2 - 4 and Film #1272906 Item 1 Maybe you can find what you are looking for there (it does not name the church, specifically). 3. Lori, thanks. My grandfather was born in Alfhausen. A cousin (still there--in Damme) scanned all of my ancestors records on a portable scanner and so we have been able to trace the family back to 1800. Their records go back farther than that, but our line stops (begins?) there. They all (both Protestant and Catholic lines) settled mainly in Cincinnati and the name Varnau (as it was contracted in the US) still exists there. 3. Hi, thanks. Yes this is my Kenner Cralle. I received this from a cousin: "1840 Harmony, Posey Co. census for Kenner Cralle and son John who is living next door. If there are no Cralle in the property list under any of the many spellings maybe Kenner and John were renting or squatters on the property of one of the neighbors on this page." George W. should also be in the neighborhood. However, I do not have the Census information. Would it be too much of a intrusion to ask you to send the census information?
