Those are with findagrave.com. I use it all the time, but was hoping VSH would go online like Spring Grove and Walnut Hills and put the actual records online. Spring Grove did such a wonderful job. You are able to find out parents' names, addresses, cause of death, birthplace, etc. I sure hope VSH follows suit. Sorry I forgot the dates! Yes, that is the right family. I don't have a birth date for Rosa PALMISANO other than what can be deduced from the census. Vincenzo and Rosa probably had siblings I know nothing about. Vincenzo PALMISANO was born 9 Oct 1855 in Termini. His wife Antonina CORSO was born 3 Jun 1864 in Termini. Their children were Lorenzo (Lawrence) born 11 Oct 1885 in Termini Maria (Mary) PALMISANO born abt. 1890 Giacoma PALMISANO born abt 1891 Anna PALMISANO born Apr 1896 Rosa (Rose) PALMISANO born 26 Apr 1901 Angela PALMISANO born abt. 1904 As far as I can tell Vincenzo PALMISANO first came to the United States in 1892. He made a trip back to Sicily and came back to Cincinnati bringing his son Lorenzo with him in 1895, though I have not been able to find Lorenzo in the 1900 census. His wife and 3 daughters, Maria, Giacoma, and Anna came over in 1900. Giacoma died about six months after their arrival, and is buried in St. Joseph New Cemetery. Rosa and Angela were born in Cicinnati. The family made one or two trips back to Italy between 1907 and 1920. Sometime in the early 1920's they left Cincinnati and settled in Niagara Falls, NY. Hi Carol. You didn't give any dates. There was a Vito and Rosa COSTA in the 1900 census for Cincinnati. She was born about 1870. Is that the couple you are researching? Her husband is listed as "Son In Law" and there is a PALMISANO listed as Head of Household. Margaret

Is anyone researching the ancestors of Vito COSTA and Rosa PALMISANO? I am a descendant of Rosa's brother, Vincenzo PALMISANO. I have very little information on the PALMISANO family, but the online records of St. Joseph New Cemetery indicate that Rosa's father was Fred PALMISANO. I don't know that her father ever came to America, so Fred must be an Americanized version of an Italian name. I think there are at least 3 it could be used for. I'd like to find out what his given name actually was, among other things. Vincenzo PALMISANO married Antonina CORSO. According to one of my aunts they were first cousins, but I don't know if this is true. I believe that these families immigrated to the United States from Termini Imerese, Sicily. Does anyone have any information that they would be willing to share? A member of this mailing list provided me with the following information from this book about a year ago: Vincenzo Palmisano age 38 origin: Italy departed Palermo arrived New York 26 Mar 1891 DEC date 19 Oct 1893 This information does not agree with what Vincenzo gave when he applied for a passport in Cincinnati in 1907 (Ancestry.com has an image of the passport application, where the date is 13 Oct 1896. Apparently he had some sort of certificate of naturalization he showed when he applied for the passport. Does anyone know the reason for the discrepancy? Do I understand correctly that the Blegen Library will not supply copied of the naturalization documents because they are fragile? My connection to Hamilton Co is via my Scotch/Irish ancestors from SW PA. However the Germans in Hamilton Co appear to be from the same families Ochs,Menke. Rennier. Schambeck. Dorn etc that I find in Jasper/Richland Co IL where 6+ German Catholic communities settled and also around Chambersburg, PA. Early settlers in these groups frequently claim Oldenburg, Hesse-Darmstadt, and Alsace as their origin. In a message dated 4/7/2008 5:40:48 P.M.
