Hello: I am hoping to find someone that would be willing to take photos of markers for me in Vine Street Hill Cemetery. Hope to hear from someone. Karen Phillips

There are reconstructed indexes, compiled from what was left of the courthouse records and newspaper publishings. You can find a decent index on the Hamilton County Genealogical Society website. http://www.hcgsdata.org/marriage.shtml > > I am wondering if there is a Marriage Book for Cincinnati for about the > years 1850-1920. The Hamilton County Genealogical Society chapter of the Ohio Genealogical Society has volunteer researchers who will check our publications for you. One name, one hour is $20 for non-members or $10 for members. The Research Committee form is on our website at hcgsohio.org under "Research Services". Complete the form with as much information as possible then mail, with your check payable to HCCOGS, to HCCOGS, P.O. Box 15865, Cincinnati, OH 45215-0865. The list of our publications is available on the website under "Publications". Under "Databases" is indices of some of our marriage and death publications. thanks to all for the response. i find some of the records, but not all. I will work today on the files and see what I am missing. some things just mean a road trip. that is not always a bad thing. i get more than just records when i do the road trips. i get to the cemeteries and in some cases in the cin area the homes are still standing so i get a photo of those. thanks so much to all who responded. i do love the cin group. one of the greatest crowds going. have a grand one all and the best of luck in your searches. pj.
My experience with most of my family Kraut names was that the first name - your's was most likely Bernard and then Michael. The family called them by their 2nd name eg. Michael. BUT then that isn't always the case but would bet if you find baptismal records that is what you will find. Hope that helps a little. Dave in Cincy

The Hamilton County Web site may not have all online as yet--go to Little Miami Publishing to see more about them (except the 6th edition of the guide--just sent in yesterday and not yet on) http://www.littlemiamibooks.com. However, you may order from the Chapter as they will also have all the publications that I mentioned. barbara On Sat, Aug 29, 2009 at 12:52 PM, <JHuecker@aol.com> wrote: > Are these for sale and if so, how much? They are for sale through the Hamilton County Chapter http://hcgsohio.org/. They also provide look ups but you will have to wait until the books have been published. However, if someone has an original Cincinnati Volksfreund (I sent mine to the publisher) then the Chapter or someone on this list could look up for you. Hello: I am wondering if there is a Marriage Book for Cincinnati for about the years 1850-1920. Or - perhaps an index somewhere? Thanks again to everyone on this site that has been so helpful! Karen
Marian, I was having the same problem with my MSN browser. I installed the Firefox browser and am now able to use the pilot site again with no problem. If you keep having trouble getting in there maybe I can find what you are looking for on the site and send it to you. Are these for sale and if so, how much? Also is there someone to check the index for surnames? If a surname is not in the index, it would not be necessary to purchase the item(s). Barbara, I was just wondering if you have a copy of the Volksfreund index and can do a lookup?
