LAWYER SUCCUMBS AT HOSPITAL Mrs. Emily Lawyer, 60, 1601 N. 13th St., died at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 8, 1971) at Guernsey Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was born June 20, 1911 in Cambridge, the daughter of William and Hattie Mercer McManaway, and was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gray Ladies and Wing at Guernsey Memorial Hospital; American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliaries. She was married to Dr. Gordon F. Lawyer, who died Dec. 14, 1964. Mrs. Lawyer leaves one son, William of Cincinnati; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Gregory, Monroe, La., Mrs. Leota Henis, Ashville, N. C., and Mrs. Annabelle Haynes, Cambridge; five brothers George McManaway, Ashville, N. C., William, of Live Oaks, Fla., Lester of Toledo, Leroy of Greenville S.C., and John of Cambridge. Four sisters are deceased. Services at Scott Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Friday, Rev. James E. Taggart officiating.
