Maybe his fife, Elizabeth died there? In 1840 he was living in Homer Township, Athens County, OH. On March 14 of that year he married Mrs. Artymesa Ford, apparently so he could have a companion and a caregiver. But by the time the census taker came around that year, Mr. Preston-Ford-Stackhouse is gone and Amos was living with Joshua King. Does anyone know if Mr. & Mrs. King were related to Amos Stackhouse? Does anyone know when Amos & Artymesa/Artimesa/Artimesy died? MaryLu in Minnesota
