The only Smith connection we have is our GG Grandmother Mary Smith. We have no information on her parents or siblings. Another cousin says she was born abt 1818 in Belmont Co., Ohio. James could be a brother, cousin, nephew? Picture is circa 1880, 1890? James has a very gray beard but mustache and hair are not that gray. Looks to be light colored eyes. We have no information on the parents or siblings of Elijah either. Mary Smith. Born abt 1818 in Belmont Co., Ohio. (My GG Grandmother.) Elijah Weir. Born in abt 1812 Ohio. (GG Grandfather.) On 6 Nov 1834 Elijah married Mary Smith, in Belmont Co., Ohio. Mary was still living in the 1860 census and the family had moved to Illinois. She is not listed in the 1870 census and daughter Elizabeth Ann (G Grandmother), and family are living with Elijah. They had the following children: (All surname Weir.) i John.
