Author: Terry Willis <[email protected]> Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AWB.2ACE/2323 Message Board Post: Shirley Ann, is the youngest of eight children, is the only member of the family to graduate at Sarahsville. She has six sisters and a brother, all of whom are high school graduates. A sister, Bessie Eileen, also attended Muskingum College four years, making a total of 100 years of schooling for the eight. This remarkable achievement was largely the result of determined effort on the part of Mr. and Mrs. Yoho, who were quite anxious that their children receive at least a high school education. "It was pretty difficult as times to the children in school, especially during the depression, but we managed some how," said Mr. Yoho, who was employed in Canton. "My wife and I always contended that our children should at least go through high school and we all worked hard to make it possible. We are, of course, proud of our daughters and son," he concluded. The children are; Shirley Ann of the home; Ellen Elizabeth, inspector at the Hoover plant in Canton; Bertha Mae, wife of Cpl. R.H. Taylor, Sacramento, Calif.; Charles L. of the U.S. Navy; Bessie Eilleen, wife of Rev. David Hively, of New Franklin, formerly of Pleasant City; Lois K., stenographer at Washington D.C.; Dora F., employee of Republic Steel in Canton, and Hester M., wife of Carlos Neiswonger, Quaker City.
