How might I obtain access to the Coroner's Record? This is the first I've heard of the term. I've checked the census, and found Otho in the 1900 census, in washington county, but I can't find him in the census of 1910, which is the one which would show his move into the area. I found his relatives in the area in 1920, and 1930 census, and I would suppose that they would live in the same house, or at least the same area as where he would have lived. I am quite impressed with this service, and appreciate the help. I have access to the census if anyone needs help. County health information has been compiled by the state since at least 1913. I took a look at the list put on the web by the Ohio Genealogical Society here: http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/results.cfm It is not the easiest database to manipulate, but searching for variations on your grandfather's name the only ones that came close were: BERG ROY A County Name: GUERNSEY Date of Death: 2/27/1914 Volume Number: 1290 Certificate Number: 8667 MCDANIEL OTHO E County Name: STARK Date of Death: 9/19/1913 Volume Number: 1183 Certificate Number: 54876 (Stark is two counties north.) I will check at the courthouse, then email you the department to get in touch with. It has been twenty years, or more since I used them.
