County health information has been compiled by the state since at least 1913. I took a look at the list put on the web by the Ohio Genealogical Society here: http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/results.cfm It is not the easiest database to manipulate, but searching for variations on your grandfather's name the only ones that came close were: BERG ROY A County Name: GUERNSEY Date of Death: 2/27/1914 Volume Number: 1290 Certificate Number: 8667 MCDANIEL OTHO E County Name: STARK Date of Death: 9/19/1913 Volume Number: 1183 Certificate Number: 54876 (Stark is two counties north.)
