From William Newell Cowden my line goes to his son, Dr. David Cowden, a physician in Guernsey County for all his practicing career. His son, Harry, was a teacher and principal, and was my grandfather. My father, Robert, was a teacher (Cleveland) and then a professor of music education at the University of Cincinnati and Indiana State. I am a professor of psychology at Northern Virginia Community College (www.nvcc.edu/home/ccowden)--aren't you affiliated with Chico State? BTW, I googled your name and found a posting on the Robe board. Margaret Robe Summitt is a fantastic source for our Robes. I have corresponded with her and seen the folder of materials she deposited at the library in Brownsville, Oregon, where Robert Robe was minister. Lucille Cowden Kazee is also a fantastic source on the Cowdens. Since I don't know how much this will be of interest to the Guernsey Co. board, why don't you email me at [email protected]?
