Mary Ann Paschal and James Murph(e)y married - reportedly in Guernsey Co OH in 1809. (In 1809 Guernsey Co was still part of Belmont Co.) Were marriage records kept that long ago? I have found that James Murphy bought/was granted land in 1815 in Guernsey Co (top center section - just east of present Hwy 77). About 1830, he moved to Hilliar Twp of Knox Co, where he remained until his death 11Apr1864. James was born 30May1785 in PA according to cemetery and census records. I have not been able to find any Paschals at all in any of these three counties in the early 1800s. Mary Ann was born Apr1787 in VA (now WV, I'm sure) according to cemetery records (1785-1790 in census records). She died 9Feb1869 in Knox Co OH. Children of James and Mary Ann included: Nicolas (b 1809), John (1812), Cornelius (1814), Nancy (b Jul1816 Guernsey Co OH; m 10May1845 William Beach), William (b 31Mar1818 Guernsey Co OH m Julia Ann Smith), Jane (m Mr. Green), Ellen (m Mr. Douglas), + three girls (of the girls with no birth dates, 3 were born 1820/25, 2 born 1825/30) Some of this information was found in Knox Co History books regarding two of their children, William (b 31Mar1818 Guernsey Co) and Nancy (Mrs. William Beach; b 1816 Guernsey Co); in census records; in cemetery records and anywhere else I could come up with possibilities. Any suggestions on where I might find more info on either James or Mary Ann would be most welcome since I'm at a loss as to where else to search. Thanks, Sharon Murphey Worthey
