Bell, a respected citizen of this place, died very unexpectedly at his home about 12 o'clock Sabbath night. So far as is known Mr. Bell was in his usual health until about a half hour before his death, when he took hemorrhage of the lungs and being all alone he managed to arouse Dr. Lawrence who lives near by. The doctor hastened to his aid but before anything could be done or his children called in, he had passed away. Mr. Bell was about 65 years of age. He leaves three sons and one daughter to mourn his loss. Funeral services took place Tuesday afternoon at one o'clock conducted in the U. P. church by his pastor, W. R. McMunn. Interment in the U. P. cemetery. Cambridge Jeffersonian August 21, 1902 Mrs. Elizabeth J. Bell. The death of this beloved wife and mother took place at her home in Antrim on Thursday morning the 14th of August 1902. She had been gradually going down with the dread disease, consumption, for more than a year when the end came and she entered into reast and peace. Mrs. Bell was the beloved daughter of James and Sarah Ann (Downer) Gilmer. She was born on the 8th day of December, 1842, at the old Downer home near Antrim. Here she spent her early life and until she was married to Mr. William S. Bell, of Antrim, on the 10th day of October, 1867. To the union thus formed were born eleven children, six of whom preceded their mother to the long home. Those who remain are: Mrs. Ora Tuttle, wife of Mr. Henderson Tuttle, Postmaster and merchant of Antrim; Moses and George, married and living in Antrim; Miss Jennie and Charles, still at home. With these the bereaved husband and father mourn the departure of a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Bell made a profession of her faith in Christ as her Savior at the age of eighteen and was taken into the full membership of the United Presbyterian congregation of Antrim, O., then under the pastoral care of Rev. Mr. Lorimer. This was her church home during her entire life and of the congregation she was consistent and interested member and in the closing hours of her life she gave evidence of her faith. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. R. W. McBride, pastor of the Londonderry United Presbyterian congregation. He spoke from the words: "And he showed me that great city." Rev. 21:10 A large concourse of relatives and friends were at the service and followed the remains as they were laid to rest in the United Presbyterian cemetery, and all sympathized deeply with the bereaved husband and children.
