Two of his granddaughters married Fordyce men in Guernsey Co. David D. Fordyce (1806-1887) married Margaret Fiester, daughter of Henry Fiester & Margaret Shipman. Barnet W. Fordyce (1808-1866) married Margaret Shipman (1813-1893), daughter of Jacob Shipman, Jr. & his first (unknown) wife. David and Margaret (Fiester) Fordyce last show up on 1870 census in Steele Co., Minnesota.

My GGG grandfather, Enoch Thomas' first wife was Charity Shipman born in 1788 and died 4 February 1814 in Wills township. I wonder if she might be related to Jacob. Family records say she was born in PA.
