Chelekis, 83, who died Monday, Sept. 8, 2008 at the Greenbriar Nursing Home. Stella was born July 16, 1925, in Cambridge, Ohio the daughter of Emanuel and Potitsa Chelekis and came to Youngstown, Ohio as a child. Stella was a 1943 graduate of South High School and a secretary for Diamondhead No. 1 Nursing Home from 1979 to 1994. She was a member of Saint John the Forerunner Greek Orthodox Church. She leaves her nephew, Michael Chelekis and his wife, Denise Chelekis; great-nephew, Matthew Chelekis; and her niece, Stephanie Joseph and her husband, Alan Joseph. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, John Chelekis and his wife, Joanne; and Ernest Chelekis and his wife, Stella.
