They are very, very modest with their fees compared to places like the health department with birth and death certificates. I looked up one from the thirties and they didn't find it at the probate office, so I had to go across the street where they sent many records as a depository and the clerk down there pulled up the actual papers they'd filed. Copies are available on request. I've looked up lawsuits and criminal court cases from even earlier. They're a gold mine. You should also be able to get the information in the newspapers of that day.
