I have been doing the same thing in Lawrence Co. and Butler Co., PA. with the Newspaper Archives, The Godfrey Library, and CDs from Butler. I have transcribed about 20 or so social events, obits, and even the transcript of a murder trial for my ancestors and I have only just begun. It is a lot of work but it gives us a window into their lives and makes them become more than a name on a pedigree chart.
