Author: TerryWillis124 Surnames: Beymer and Walters Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.ohio.counties.guernsey/4370/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Washington, Ohio--Feb. 12th Jacob Walters who conducted a blacksmith shop on West Main Street, died very suddenly at two o'clock, on Tuesday morning from heart failure. He was down town on Monday and appeared in his usual health. He was 70 years old. Interment Wednesday in the Washington Cemetery. Mrs. Lucinda Root, who died at the home of her daughter in Newark Monday last week was buried from the home of her daughter, Kate Wyrick, on West Main Street, Wednesday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. A. E. Yeager, of the Methodist Church. A large number of friends and neighbors of the deceased were present to pay their last sad rites of respect to one whom they had long known and respected her for her kind and motherly ways. She was born in Washington 86 years and six months ago and had with the expectation of a year or two, always resided here. She was the daughter of Peter Beymer, on the early settlers of this town, and a brother of the late General Simon Beymer. Her husband, Sylvester Root, died December 8th, 1877. He was an old stage driver in the palmy days of the National Pike. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mahala Smith, of Newark, and Mrs. Kate Wyrick, of Washington. Interment was made in the Washington Cemetery beside her husband. The bereave! d daughters have the sincere sympathy of all in their loss. 14 Feb, 1907 Cambridge Jeffersonian Cambridge Ohio.
