Warne, one of the most prominent farmers in Center Township, died Friday, September 23, 1898, aged 68 years. Mr. Warne had been afflicted with rheumatism for some time and was taken with malarial fever a few weeks ago. His condition was not considered serious till a short time before his death, when his heart became affected and he lived but a short time afterward. The deceased was born and raised on the farm where he died and by industry and careful management had become one of the wealthiest men in the county. In January, 1871, he was married to Miss Jennie Willis, who resided in Jefferson Township, near Mr. Warne's home, and to them were born five children, three sons and two daughters, Agnes, who with her brothers reside at the home, and Mrs. Milton Burgess of this city. The bereaved wife and family the sympathy of all in their bereavement. The funeral services were held at the family residence Sunday morning at 10 o'clock. Rev. Appleton of Washington conducting the services and the remains were interred in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Thursday 29 September 1898 The Republican Press Cambridge Jeffersonian.
