HARRIS, MINISTER FOR MORE THAN 50 YEARS The Rev. Paul D. Harris, 88, of the Red Carpet Health Care Center, died Saturday (May 11, 1996) at Southeaster Ohio Regional Medical Center. He was born Aug 4, 1907, in Flushing, son of the late Thomas S. and Mary A. Whiston Harris. The Rev. Harris was a Wesleyan minister for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Zanesville Wesleyan Church and a founder of the Writer's Club of Cambridge. The Rev. Harris was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Gellner Harris, on Jan 21, 1991; four brothers and four sisters. He leaves an aunt, Louella Whiston of New Philadelphia; close friends, Delbert and Dorothy Snell of Cambridge; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call from 3 to 9 pm Sunday at Thorn Funeral Home. Services will be at 1 pm Monday at the First Church of the Nazarene with the Rev. Joseph Pierce and the Rev. Eugene Gill officiating. Burial will be in Northwood Cemetery. REV PAUL D. HARRIS, 88 Cambridge - The Rev. Paul D. Harris, 88, of Red Carpet Health Care Center, Cambridge, died at 7:15 am Saturday, May 11, 1996, at the Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center emergency department. Rev. Harris was born Aug 4, 1907, in Flushing. He retired after more than 50 years as a Wesleyan minister. He was a member of Zanesville Wesleyan Church and Cambridge Writer's Workshop. Surviving are an aunt, Luella Whiston of New Philadelphia and several nieces and nephews. Rev. Harris was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas S. and Mary A. Whiston Harris; his wife, Mildred Gellner Harris, who died Jan 21, 1991; four brothers and four sisters. Services were held Monday, May 13, 1996, at the First Church of the Nazarene in Cambridge.
