Turtle.......the indians that roamed around in that area were Delaware indians. I am also descended from indians in that area, my great grandfather Sherman General Maple b.1866?was half Munsee-Delaware indian. His mother was Sarah E. Ross, and she was born in Wheeling Township, Guernsey county, Ohio. I would research the Munsee-Delaware indian......google it. Do you have any documentation on proof? How I got proof, I was lucky enough that my great grandfather's brother wrote he was half indian on his World War II draft registration card.....other than that, it has always been a family story......my grandfather was a dark man, and so was my mother. jamie -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com <gc-gateway@rootsweb.com> To: OHGUERNS-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Fri, 4 Apr 2008 2:59 am Subject: [OHGUERNS] Native American Heritage This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
