Hello, My gg grandfather, Charles Edwin Booth, was born in Guernsey Co., OH on March 20, 1859. Sometime in the 1860s or 1870s he moved to Madison Co., IA. Charles married Elvina McClain (b:1864 d:1906) on February 10, 1881 in Madison Co., IA. They raised the following children in IA: Jennie May b:1881 d:1954 m George Perkins Elizabeth Alice b:1883 d:1961 m Oscar Lee Peacock Jessie Belle m Byron S. Brown Roy Ellsworth m Melissa Faux Clyde Edwin James Wesley Nellie Grace m Walter A. Weaver and possibly Hubert C. Woolery Clarence Wm On Charles' marriage license his parents are listed as Thomas and Elizabeth Booth. That is all the information that I have on his parents. These Booths are a mystery. There is very little information on them. I tried to get a copy of Charles' birth certificate, but Guernsey Co does not have birth records prior to 1867. Does anyone know who might have birth records from 1859 (Guernsey Co)? or Has access to a 1860 Guernsey Co census and would be willing to do a lookup? I really appreciate the help as I am at a brick wall with these Booths. I live in Baraboo, Sauk Co., WI and would be happy to do lookups for this area.
