    1. Re: [OHGUERNS] Missing Inventory
    2. Michael, I too am a Rankin connection. There are two school of thoughts, that Ann Rankin was the dtr of William of Uniontown PA, but I believe her to be the dtr of Hugh Rankin, Wm's brother. If you go to the rootsweb archives in Fayette Co. PA you will find lots of info on the Rankins of Uniontown, Fayette, PA. My Ann Rankin married Alexander Hamilton McCormick and moved the same year they were married, 1815, to Belmont Co. The decendants of this couple are found in Guernsey Co. I have no Helm's in my database. He died 2-June-1841. His estate may I have the 1826-1839 film of the administrator's docket. THere're no Rankins in there. The date of the inventory probably falls in the gap that I mentioned; anyway , there are no Rankin inventories in the 1826-46 inventory film. I may have the 1840-? Administrator's docket as well ; haven't looked at that as had no interests there. I will look the next time I have a chance, perhaps Wednesday or Thursday. Please tell me more about the Rankins in Guernsey Co. The Helm family has Rankin connections, but these are back in VA (and this Rankin connection may have come from PA before this, but not sure if this is documented). Why the Helm family chose to come to Guernsey Co in the 1820's is a mystery, but it may make more sense if relatives or members of their community also migrated to Ohio. >>
