After Elizabeth's death, Robert Proudfit married Mary Jane Wilson Campbell, widow of John Campbell, daughter of David Wilson and Sarah Patterson, and his first wife's cousin. Robert and Mary Jane had five children, one of them named Hugh Wilson Proudfit (aka Wilson H.).
