However, I was wondering if you would do me a favor. Since you have the probate record, can you tell me if there is any mention of Thomas Rankin's estate? He died 2-June-1841. His estate may not have been settled until after 1842. Any help would truly be appreciated. The date of the inventory probably falls in the gap that I mentioned; anyway , there are no Rankin inventories in the 1826-46 inventory film. I may have the 1840-? Administrator's docket as well ; haven't looked at that as had no interests there. I will look the next time I have a chance, perhaps Wednesday or Thursday. Please tell me more about the Rankins in Guernsey Co. The Helm family has Rankin connections, but these are back in VA (and this Rankin connection may have come from PA before this, but not sure if this is documented). Why the Helm family chose to come to Guernsey Co in the 1820's is a mystery, but it may make more sense if relatives or members of their community also migrated to Ohio.
