OH Queries Forum Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Oh/Guernsey?read=1071 Surname: Miller, McCulley, Beggs, Parkison ------------------------- I am trying to find the parents of my anscestor, Ellen Miller (may be Elenour or Elenoe). She was born around 1790. She married James Beggs. They were possitively living in Liberty Township between 1830 and 1867. According to James Will in 1867, she had already passed on. She is mentioned in, "History of Guernsey County, Ohio," Liberty Township, Page 88: James Beggs was one of the many sons of Ireland who have helped build up the National domain. He and his wife, Ellen Miller, were born in the old country in 1790, lived together and ended their career almost simultaneously. In 1798 they emigrated to Jefferson Twp, Ohio, but shortly purchased land in Liberty Twp where he died in 1867. Mrs. Beggs died shortly before. Their two children are Elizabeth wife of Gilbert McCulley, and James. The latter born in Ireland in 1817. In 1841, he married Margaret Parkeson, of this country. Miss Parkison was a daughter of Edward Parkison and at the time of her marriage was 19 years old. Their children were: James McGill, Barbara A. (dead), John, Dorcas J., Ida Bell, and James. The Beggs farm contains 357 acres. The only leads I have to her family is that ADAM MILLER was one of the witnesses to Jame's will. Also, in a book I found this reference, which may be one of the Millers related to Ellen: .."Other pioneers were Robert Forsythe, who came from Pennsylvania; James Beggs, who was born in Ireland; Joseph McMullen, also a native of Ireland; R.R. Miller and Isaac Crow." Any help appreciated!
