    3. Can anyone tell me when the Central Ohio District Fair was first held? I found a reference to the "Central Ohio District Fair Association, in Coshocton Co., one half mile west of Newcomerstown" (Tuscarawas Co.) in a copy of an 1881 obituary for James Mulvane. I believe that the fair was held on land granted to Mathias Denman and sold to William Mulvain/Mulvane prior to 1810. William sold portions of the land to David Douglass and James Douglass, and some to his brothers John and Joseph Mulvain. (Note: I would love to connect with anyone who has information on where to look for recorded deeds of pre-1810 vintage - these transactions are not recorded in the Coshocton files filmed by the LDS, but are confirmed in subsequent deeds, 1820 and later, and the county clerk's tax file info) I am looking for confirmation that the fair was held in Section 1, Township 5, Range 4 of the US Military District. The land was in Tuscarawas County from 1808 to 1810 when Coshocton Co. was erected. Since this area is just a few miles from Guernsey County, I am sending this message to that readership as well. Does anyone else have any references to this fair, its origins, location, etc.? Is the fair still operating? Patti
