He was in Cambridge on Sept. 6, 1924. He moved to the Green Cove Springs community in 1989. Mr. Beynon was a chef, after having served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded the Purple Heart while in the Army. He was a member of the VFW and the DAV. He was Protestant by faith. Along with his wife, Joyce, he leaves a son, Bruce of Los Angeles; two daughters, Jerrilynn and Melanie, both of Ohio; many step-children; three brothers and a sister, Carl, Paul, Bobby and Judy, all of Ohio; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Sue. Services will be 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Clay Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Gore officiating. Burial will be in Penney Farms Cemetery. Friends may call today from noon to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
