Yes, It was a huge manor type home with 2 areas for the "wards"...boys on one side and girls on the other. There was a kitchen, large dining area, a large community room with a piano and of course other "off limits" rooms we were never allowed to see. I know my brothers and I were able to see each other once in awhile...mostly at meal time, once in awhile on the playground and holidays we all gathered in the community room. It was a dark/cold place but yet I remember it being warm with people that seemed to care about us. I have some good memories of it...tho I was awfully young at the time. I hated seeing the building torn down but know they have nice cottage type dwellings there now. I only hope and pray they have the same type of warm/compassionate people working there as they did in my stay. It is located at 274 Highland Ave....You can see it on the left going East on Route 40...but going Highland it is on the right just as you pass Park Elem. School.
