Hello all, During my excursion to Guernsey County, I found a deed for my ancestor that says the following: "to John McAndless, assignee of Robert Porter." I have checked every possible resource on my ancestor in order to find out who is parents were or where he came from, but I've had no luck, so I'm researching this Robert Porter in hopes that he will provide a clue. The deed is dated February 25, 1839 for land in Madison Twp. from the State of Ohio (grantor). I'd appreciate any information at all on Robert Porter. Thanks, Jessie McCandless
