These 2 men, John & George Kelso, are listed as landowners in the 1821-1832 tax rolls. But they're not on the census and don't show up in the personal property tax rolls. In the 1840's John Kelso is involved in lawsuit over lands being sold as part of Benjamin Helm's estate. The legal description of the land is either the same as the land on the 1820's tax rolls, or an adjacent piece. I expect John or his heirs held a mortgage with Helm or partnered with him or something of the sort. [Would sure like to know!] The Kelso's don't seem to own a lot of land in Guernsey Co. Who are they? Where are they? Where are they from? Any advice appreciated.
