Clay, 55, Kimbolton R. D. 1, North Salem, died at 11:30 a.m. Friday (Jan. 12, 1973) in Aultman General Hospital, Canton. He had been in failing health. Born in Piedmont, May 3, 1917, he was a son of the late Calvin W. and Estella Ferguson Clay. An employee of Heller Tool Company, Newcomerstown, he was a member of New Salem United Presbyterian Church; Royal Arch Masons, Newcomerstown; and the Eagles Lodge, Cambridge, and was a past master of Plainfield Masonic Lodge. Mr. Clay leaves his wife, Frances D. Doulter Clay; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Judy) Hammersly, Cambridge, Mrs. Michael (Nancy) Timmons, Batesville; one son, David Clay, MInerva; one step-daughter, Mrs. Paul (Cindy) Burton, Flora, Ill.; one step-son, Ricky L. Beaver, Middlebourne; nine grandchildren; three brothers, Roy of Boiling Springs, Pa. and George and Wayne, both of Freeport; and several nieces and nephews. One daughter and one brother are deceased. Friends may call at Thorn Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday. Masonic services will be held there at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Gene Mast officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Belmont County.
