Dear list, I will follow with the known children of Nicholas Smith (c.1793 -1872) and Sarah "Sally" Hamilton who were married in Guernsey County on 25 January 1819. I have no idea who Sarah Hamilton's parents were, but assume they were living in Guernsey county at the time of Sarah's marriage in 1819. (Could Sarah's parents have been James and Rebecca Hamilton of Guernsey County?) Nicholas and Sarah (Hamilton) Smith moved to the New Concord area after their marriage, but their daughter Mariah, who married into the Duffs, lived in Cambridge. Nicholas and Sarah had: 1 boy Smith born c. 1819-20 2 boy Smith born c. 1820-25 (may have been named Goerge) 3 Mariah A. Smith born c. 1825 d. before 1915 4 John Henry Smith b. 31 Jan. 1830 d. 12 March 1915 3 Mariah Smith c.1825 ? James and Maria were married 9 November 1871, Guernsey Co., OH. Much of this family info. comes from "Dode" Duff's obit. of 1915. Kids: Fred R. Duff lived in Cambridge in 1915 Miss Margaret "Maggie" Duff lived in Cambridge in 1915 3c David W. Duff 1854 1917 Alice A. ( ? ) 1858 1934 (This info. comes from the New Concord cemetery records, and may not be the right David Duff. But it's a "working" connection, yet to be proven) Anyone with connections to the Duffs of the New Concord or Cambridge area. I would love to hear from you. Sincerely, Andy Miller, Columbus, Ohio
