Daily Jeffersonian . . Jan 2001 Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Thorn-Black Funeral Home, Cambridge, for Martha A. McVicker, 87, of Cambridge, who died Tuesday (Jan. 9, 2001) at Southeastern Ohio Regional Medical Center. The Rev. Ken Mansfield will officiate. Burial will be in Guernsey Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Langs, daughter of the late Alonzo and Dottie (Alexander) Simmons. Mrs. McVicker had worked at Bayes Restaurant in Woodsfield and cleaned houses. She was a Methodist by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. McVicker, who died Dec. 26, 1987. They were married in 1950. Also deceased are three sisters, Hazel Smith, Carrie Elliott and Katie Sims; three brothers, Frank McCaslin, Bryce Simmons and John Simmons. She leaves a son, Charles Antill of Boynton Beach, Fla.; two daughters, Shirley Callihan of Cambridge and Martha Cole of Beacon Falls, Conn.; four grandchildren, Tommy Joe Gravens, David Callihan, Kevin Callihan and Michelle (Callihan) Crews; and six great-grandchildren.
