    3. Sallie.....Hi....I am originally from Cambridge and use the Findley Room from my computer in San Antonio, Tx. You know they most likely have the obit you are looking for....and if your computer has a fax system you can send them a request....or call them to see if their email is activitated yet. Their fax number is 1-740-432-7142 and their voice line is 1-740-432-5946. In most cases you will be talking to Mallissa Essex. She provides the genealogy service for the library, but the people around the area are great and you might just find one on this list who will do you a favor and go check for the obituary. 3. Jamie: I have an Elizabeth Hood, 3/16/1848-2/22/1897 (married Harry Acton), buried in Fairview Cemetery in Hendrysburg, and Talitha C. Hood, 1845-4/24/1926 (married Francis M. Acton), also buried in Fairview Cemetery. I cannot tell you if they were sisters or the gentlemen were brothers. My great grandmother was an Acton, and my mother transcribed their tombstones for my father's side of the family. I have established a connection to Francis, he is the uncle of my great grandmother. I guess it's on p. 454. You might also look for land records for Adams Township. The census can be found at National Archives and LDS Family History Centers. The latter you may find at the LDS FHC, and also in the county seat, Cambridge, at the library or courthouse, I think. If you can pay a visit to the library you might find other relevant records, too. 1. [OHGUERNS] Central Ohio District Fair
    2. Doug and Patti Ensor
    3. Can anyone tell me when the Central Ohio District Fair was first held? I found a reference to the "Central Ohio District Fair Association, in Coshocton Co., one half mile west of Newcomerstown" (Tuscarawas Co.) in a copy of an 1881 obituary for James Mulvane. I believe that the fair was held on land granted to Mathias Denman and sold to William Mulvain/Mulvane prior to 1810. William sold portions of the land to David Douglass and James Douglass, and some to his brothers John and Joseph Mulvain. (Note: I would love to connect with anyone who has information on where to look for recorded deeds of pre-1810 vintage - these transactions are not recorded in the Coshocton files filmed by the LDS, but are confirmed in subsequent deeds, 1820 and later, and the county clerk's tax file info) I am looking for confirmation that the fair was held in Section 1, Township 5, Range 4 of the US Military District. The land was in Tuscarawas County from 1808 to 1810 when Coshocton Co. was erected. Since this area is just a few miles from Guernsey County, I am sending this message to that readership as well. Does anyone else have any references to this fair, its origins, location, etc.? Is the fair still operating? Patti
