Ephraim Metheney, who is my ancestor, (1803 - 1877) was born in Virginia, but his descendants were born in Ohio or other points west. Based on this, I would not seem to have any connection to your John Metheney. It would be a help if you would provide some dates (birth and death) and locations where he lived. I suggest that you contact Dolores Johnson [Gucciardo@aol.com}. She has been researching the "Methena,..." lines for a number of years and has a bunch of information. She also has a Metheney book published under her earlier married name of Dolores Gucciardo. Regards, Bill When tracing ancestors, please stay within the lines.

    3. Hello All.....I will also be visiting the Senecaville cemetery and others in the Guernsey/Monroe/Noble area in the very near future. My father, James Leonard Curtis, is buried in the cemetery in Senecaville. Back in the 50s and 60s he was the operater of the SUNOCO Service Station beside the old Ford Dealer across from Park School. He also became the owner and operator of the Enco/Esso Service Station further out on E 40 near the then new I 77. He had a severe heart attack on the drive of that station and died at age 63 in Jun 1975. I would be glad to take a picture of a tombstone if someone is interested or check to see if someone you are concerned about is buried in the area.
