Does anyone have a reference that lists those persons buried in Cumberland Cemetery? I'm trying to locate a JEREMIAH CULLER/CULER who died in 1875. Thank you.

OOPs, sorry everyone, posted that last one to the wrong county.
Justin: If you can find someone to check the Sandusky courthouse for you, there is an index card file of Erie County births and your Mary Davey (or the one in the census) may be listed there. It may help you confirm or exclude the information you have so far. Parents are listed on the cards. I was just there last week, but unfortunately live in FL and cannot help you now. I found a lot of Kelley's Island births among the files. Check with the volunteers on the web site for someone who will go to the courthouse for you. Good Luck, Nancy

I recall it as taking place when the couple returned after their honeymoon--at least that's what happened in Buffalo in the 1940s.

Also John W. Gill b abt 1856 and wife Martha b 1857. All born in Ohio. Both men stated parents were born in Va.
All I can find out is ... Ringing of the wedding bells after the ceremony was meant to scare away the evil spirits that could destroy the couple's happiness. ----- Original Message ----- From: R Curtis <RobCurtis@prodigy.net> To: <OHGUERNS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2000 9:24 PM Subject: [OHGUERNS] Fw: [OH-MEM] PreWedding Traditions that I Remember > Something that is off topic on the genealogy list and I apologize, but > this "Belling" > celebration has been trying to surface from my memory for years. > Please accept > my intrustion, but if any of you have a memory of this occurence, > please let me know. > > Bob Curtis > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: R Curtis <RobCurtis@prodigy.net> > To: <OH-MEMORIES-L@nostalgia.rootsweb.com> > Sent: Thursday, August 24, 2000 11:14 PM > Subject: Re: [OH-MEM] PreWedding Traditions that I Remember > > > > Hello All.
