I am interested in contacting any descendants from the families of Johiel FULLER, John GUNN or Garrett MATTHEWS. Garrett had sons Andrew, John, Garrett, William and Jacob. All were at one time or another in Guernsey County and most of them lived and died there. If you know of some descendants who do not have email, would you please send me snail mail addresses? I believe there must still be family members in the area, and I desperately want to find them before an upcoming visit. Thank you! Donna Brown Berner Wichita, KS

I believe he was born in Guernsey County, Ohio. I found a reference to Hanna Susanna Ansberry born in Gernsey, Ohio in 1863 - possibly his sister? Isaac married Iva Myrtle Myrick in 1899. Iva was the daughter of Catherine Elizabeth Botts and Perry Myrick. Catherine was the daughter of Isaac Morris Botts and Mahala Cale. I can place the Botts family in Guernsey County from the 1850 census. I am unable to locate any data on Isaac's parents. It's like he grew out of the ground. Any leads would be most appreciated.

I wonder if anyone can offer information about the MILLERS of Guernsey County, Spencer Twp. in the early 1800's? 1821 George Miller married Betsy Bay. Neither shows up in later maps or cemetery records. I'm hoping to learn who the parents of this Betsy Bay may have been; I have a suspicion that she may have been a daughter of Robert Bay, but no researchers have her listed at all. History of Guernsey County (1882) (p 440) says that Robert Bay, son of Thomas, located on what is known as the Miller farm, in 1813. He studied law, and was a highly respected gentleman. Alexander Miller owned about 670 acres in Sections 29, 30, and 31 as shown on 1870 Atlas. 1855 Spencer Twp. map - shows land owned by Alexander and Elizabeth Miller. 1900 Spencer Twp. map - shows much of same area owned by Sarah J. Miller, Peter Miller, Richard Miller, and Howard Miller. Cumerland Cemetery list shows Alexander Miller (1822-1887), Sarah Miller (1829-1901) and Charles Miller (1874-1935) Alexander Miller (1856 - 1906) and Jennie B. Miller (1856 - 1926) Lizzie Miller (1868 -1917), Edward M. Miller (1866-1932), and William Edward Miller (1922-1938). There are about 16 queries that mention Thompson specifically in connection with Guernsey County. The Thompson family of Guernsey County intermarried extensively with the Frame family. Both families came into the area about 1810 from Fayette Co., PA. One of the Thompson researchers sent me a lineage that goes back to the 1400s.
