What became of the town of Winchester, which appears in Madison TWP in early census returns? Does it have some relationship with the present-day Winterset?

I was looking at film of the 1830 Guernsey Co census the other day. Very poor -- many of the pages, especially in Madison TWP, were unreadable, the ink had perhaps faded nearly completely or the exposure wasn't good. Has anyone seen readable copies of this census? If so, where? Thanks, ==mwh

John was born in 1777 in either Pa. or Ireland and married Rebecca in Warrenton, Va. He died in 1851 in Guernsey Co. and she died in 1840. They had 15 children. I am descended from their daughter Sarah who married Jesse Williams.

Seeking the marriage record of Jesse Needham and Sarah Runyan in Guernsey County in 1816. Supposedly they remained in Guernsey Co (near Byesville) for a number of years before moving to Richland Co Ohio where Jesse Needham died c 1847. Thanks for your assistance and suggestions.

The Genealogical Society -- call them for directions. Unless you're familiar with the area they are hard to find. They are located just off I 70 on the main road into Cambridge (SR 209?) but the last few blocks are confusing. They are located 1.5-2 miles from the center of Cambridge (maybe longer, the road winds). The library's genealogy room, the old courthouse, and the Guernsey Co Museum are within a few steps of each other in the center of Cambridge. You will find the courthouse first if you come into Cambridge from I 70. The library is just north of it.

Hello everyone, I have been going through family photo albums and this thought came to my mind when looking at some photo's with cars in them. Is there any place to research old license plate numbers as to who owned the car? Some of the photo's do not have names as to who the people are. This may be a wild idea,just thought I would ask.
