Hi folks, Just wanted to give everyone that has my address as sangen@usit.net in their address book a chance to change it to my new address at sangen46@bellsouth.net My old ISP has sold out AGAIN so I am going with one that won't be selling out in the near future (at least I hope not!) and hopefully won't have as many problems with the new one either. I also want to apologize if you receive this message more than once, but that just means that we are on different mailing lists together so just hit the delete button to get rid of the duplicates. I have been unsubbing from lists under my usit.net address and subbing again with my new address so I don't miss any of your mail. You are a wonderful bunch of people...thanks for being you! :) I will wait until next week to cancel my usit account so you have a chance to make the change 'cause after I cancel that account, the usit.net mail will bounce higher than a rubber ball. LOL Until that time I can still retrieve mail from them. My next step is to try to contact individuals (Oh my, five years of contacts!). I wish you all well and hope that everyone is finding new leaves in their family trees. You can feel free to check out my website for any familiar names if you wish (The link is at the end of my signature line)...if you find one, give a yell! My ancestor James Ralston came to Guernsey Co. OH in the early 1800's, probably around 1825. In 1850 he was listed in Cambridge twp. with third wife and family. He was b. in Scotland ca 1790, possibly sojourned in VA for a little bit. He was first married to Martha ?, possibly Martha Poney/Powney of SCT. She died in Guernsey Co. 1832-1834 (from b.d. of children). Family lore is that James went back to SCT or IRE to get his next two wives. First one was Eliza Mather, but children's later census says she was b. in PA. There is an Eliza RALSTON buried in the Northfield cemetery, listed in BOOK: Pioneer Cemeteries of Guernsey Co., OH, by Conner & Goodpaster, but says she was b. in 1776, too early - might actually be 1796? This Eliza d. in 1849, which pretty much fits in with her children's b.d.. Third wife was MaryReed/Read. She was b. 1811-1813, either in PA or Ireland. Census says PA; son's death cert. says Ireland. In the early 1850's Mary and James and children moved to Madison Co., IA, where he died. Anyone have any knowledge of these Ralstons, or any other Ralstons that might be related who were in the area at the time? Jeannie Smith
I have gone to the website 5 times in the last month and have requested to be removed from this listing for some reason I have not been removed from this mailing list. So I am once more kindly asking you to remove me from this mailing list. thank you

Hi, everyone, I would like to bring another mailing list to your attention: USAGen. Its purpose is for general and entire-USA genealogical resource questions and tips, such as the one above. Being broad-based, these messages can be sent to just this list and don't need to be forwarded to a bunch of different county or state lists (where many of you will see it multiple times). I hope everyone here (and especially you, Denny :-) will join that list and share their observations and experiences that fall into this category. Send a message with the subject "subscribe" to <USAGen-L-Request@RootsWeb.Com> (or -D- if you prefer). Listers, >From a recent discussion on the PABERKS list, it was evident that many on that list had no idea how to find microfilms based on a location at LDS' Family Search site. I had helped someone out earlier with that and had responded I might at a later time share that information with the rest of the list. Well that small favor grew into a larger project entitled "Tools, Tips and Tricks" that not only covers the LDS microfilm tutorial, but a section on Rootsweb Lists, Genweb Sites, GenConnect and Mapping services. It was received with overwhelming enthusiasm and I thought I would share that information with the rest of the world and the other lists I belong to. The project is on my own web site but you can access it by the following URL: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mysong/tips.html I hope to add more tips and tricks as I can formulate ideas. I have already been approached with the idea for clarifying census records and enumeration districts but that will be a big one so give me some time. For now, what is there is useful for any researcher, experienced or newbie. The information is based on my own usage of these tools and should not be considered support for these tools or as a replacement for their own FAQs and Help systems. I am not affiliated with any of the systems and receive no enumeration from them. I wish I did. If you find these tips useful, pass the link on to your friends and other lists. if you find any errors please let me know so I can correct them. I am open to ideas on how to expand this page. Enjoy!
