    3. Hello Everyone, I am researching John FOWLER and Phebe J. Perry who married in Guernsey co on 23 Nov 1843. I am having very poor results in trying to find his father. I sent for his marriage record from the Probate Court in Cambridge, but all that I received was a photocopy of the "duly recorded" record from a book with other marriages listed also. There is no mention of either of their parents or where they resided or anything. Is anyone researching this family? Is there any other way to find out who their parents were? In the 1850 census, they were listed as living in Belmont county. Any help appreciated. Kind of lost now, Carole

    3. I'm looking for information which might lead me to the grandparents of Dr. Charles Bay of Cambridge who died, I believe, in 1921. Siblings of Dr. Bay included Mrs. Bert Morgan and Mrs. Mary Alderman, both inCambridge in 1907. I do know, according to an obituary in "The Daily Jeffersonian" in 1907 that Dr. Bay's father was Matthew W. Bay, a veteran of the 78th Regiment OVI. The article says he was born in Noble County in March 1837, was a blacksmith for many years in Hartford and Buffalo in Guernsey County as well as in Cambridge. Was evidently active in the Lutheran Church. Matthew W. Bay shows first in the 1880 Ohio census in Noble County, age 48 (making birth year 1832 not 1837) with wife Martha (39) and children Cary H. Charles?), 9; and Birdie R., 7. Have not been able to locate him in 1850-1860-1870 census. Would appreciate any help that can be offered. Tom Bay, Columbus, OH tbay@columbus.rr.com

She is the only one available to fulfill these lookup requests, and of course she has other responsibilities (every time I've been to Cambridge the genealogy section of the library has had quite a few patrons on-site).
